We collect the following information when your register on or fill out a form on our site:

  • Your full names
  • Your e-mail address
  • Your address & contact details
  • The date, time and venue of your ceremony
  • The name(s) of anyone escorting you into the ceremony
  • The name(s) of anyone reading during the ceremony
  • The name of your photographer and videographer
  • The names of your witnesses
  • Other personal information that you decide is relevant to the ceremony and choose to submit (for example, the names of other people you want to involve in parts of the ceremony).

Collected information uses

Any information provided by you is used to understand your needs and provide a better service. Information relating to each ceremony is retained in accordance with the council’s retention schedule.

Your rights

You have the right to:

  • request a copy of the information we hold about you;
  • request that we correct information on the site that you believe is inaccurate or incomplete ;
  •  request that we delete your information when there is no compelling reason for us to continue using it (for example, if you cancel a ceremony);
  •  object to us using your information if you feel we have used it outside the remit of our public tasks.
