Postlip Hall Tithe Barn
Postlip tithe barn is a magnificent medieval listed building nestling in a sleepy hamlet by the source of the River Isbourne. Everything about this rustic tithe barn is authentic: the awe-inspiring oak beams, the lovingly cared-for Cotswold stone roof, the massive block walls and the pocket of wild meadow it sits in.
Rural and Rustic
The barn opens onto a wild meadow with a large, recently restored, pond. We delight in sharing this others secluded and natural beauty with others as it provides a breathtaking backdrop for weddings.
Wedding parties have exclusive use of the barn and meadow and access to the gardens around Postlip Hall by prior agreement - perfect for drinks or photography in good weather.
The terrace and glades around the house are available for non-religious, non-legal ceremonies. (eg. Handfasting, Humanist). The barn itself is licensed for civil ceremonies so you can get married in the barn before the reception.
The barn plays an integral part in Postlip Hall community life. Out of the ‘party’ season we used it for repair, maintenance and construction projects and for storage. During warmer months it’s proved a perfect setting for people which wish to create their own personal celebration, because it offers you the freedom to organise your own catering, decoration and celebration.
Only 5 miles from Cheltenham
Tucked away on the escarpment of Cleeve Hill, the barn is set a the end of a private track which joins the A4362 between Cheltenham and Winchcombe. It is 10 miles from Gloucester.
The wedding season
We hire out the barn from May to September, excluding August when Postlip’s weddings volunteers are on holiday. From mid July the barn is booked for the Cotswold Beer Festival.
The barn is approximately 30m x 9m and there is a 5 metre square stage at one end and it is licensed for:
